Our production process begins near Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar. The country is known for its high-quality, traditional weaving. The craft has been an essential part of daily life and the local economy for centuries.
All our products are made from rattan and bamboo, natural materials that have been used here for generations. Every item is made and woven by hand, so each one keeps its own character. That is why every item you buy from us is unique.
Because we work directly with the makers, the chain stays short and transparent. We know exactly where our products come from and who makes them. This way we safeguard quality and support a fair trade chain.
From natural material to handmade product
Rattan belongs to the palm family and is known for its strength and flexibility. The solid vines can grow up to 200 metres long and grow back quickly after harvesting. Bamboo belongs to the grass family and is hollow inside. It is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world and, under the right conditions, can grow up to 90 centimetres a day. After harvesting, the material is carefully cut and dried, after which experienced weavers braid it by hand.
After weaving, every item is inspected, repaired where needed and sanded by hand. It is then given the right patina and undergoes a final post-harvest treatment, including drying and fumigation, to ensure quality and durability.
The result? A collection that feels premium, with more character and a less "factory perfect" look. Fairly produced, with an origin story that holds true.
